our story

Living Waters Ministries was originated in Biloxi, Mississippi by Pastor Lee Bruner. The Lord inspired Brother Bruner to begin bible study meetings in his dormitory at Keesler Air Force Base, As many of his colleagues begin to attend the bible study, Pastor Bruner was led to lease a small office building on Division Street in Biloxi, At the Division Street location, Pastor Bruner met his wife, Tracy Jones.

The ministry grew as Pastor Bruner’s ministry grew in spirit. Pastor Lee began traveling to various states and overseas to places such as Holland, Germany and Africa to preach the gospel. As the membership of Living Waters grew in number, the congregation was led to purchase a church on Caillavet Street in Biloxi, The church property was in existence until 2005 when Hurricane Katrina destroyed the church and his home, Pastor Bruner was determined to help God’s people to move to a better land. A few months after Hurricane Katrina, the men of Living Waters Ministries traveled to Dallas, Texas to find opportunity as pastor called it, “A Promised Land-a land flowing with milk and honey.” Approximately twenty families, moved to Dallas for this opportunity from a place of destruction. During that time, bible studies were held at one of the member’s apartments until a new location was found. The property owned by Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church was for sale on Franklin Drive.

The church was purchased and renovations began to build a church to meet the standards which God required for Living Waters Ministries. On April 19, 2009, at our building’s dedication ceremony, the Mayor John Monoco proclaimed this date as Living Waters Ministries Day.
